The Flying Vs

Yesterday John asked me to create a logo for his fantasy sports team. He calls it the Flying Vs, and he said that it could be as simple as a V with wings. So today, I whipped this up:
This is actually the revised version. The V is bigger than it was before and the wings are smaller. I was going to give it a little more depth, but most of the sports logos I looked at were flat and simple, like this.

Pumpkin Practice #2

Yeah, so...I did a second pumpkin, but I didn't like it. So I didn't take a picture of it. And now I have nothing to post. On a similar note, I didn't end up doing a pumpkin for Halloween either. Sorry.

Pumpkin Practice #1

Halloween is coming. I usually don't care much, but last year I discovered an artist who had a very interesting pumpkin carving technique, and I've been looking forward to trying it myself. The artist's name is Ray Villafane; I'll post the link to his myspace at the bottom of this post (I don't want you to look at his work until you've seen mine. He sets the bar way too high.) I decided that I should practice before I spend a lot of time on a big pumpkin, so I bought three little pumpkins for practice. Here's a picture of my first attempt:

Probably not award winning, but hey, for a first shot at this, I'm pretty happy. Plus, the little pumpkins have some kind of stupid shell that I had to chisel off. I don't think the big ones have that. Seeing as Halloween is on Friday, I'll try to whip out the next two practice pumpkins in the next two days and post them. And, as promised, here is Ray's myspace. I think this guy cheats or something.

11 Second Club ~ September

This is the first line of the 11 Second Club's September clip. I wasn't able to finish the whole thing, but I tried to get enough done that this could be funny on its own. Please give me some feedback, I've received some good advice already and plan on improving it so I can put it in my demo reel (I'm trying to get more animation in there). I was disappointed with the feedback I got on the 11 Second Club website, the best being, "Good start!", so I'll try to get suggestions here. Thanks for your help.
